Why Choose a Solar Power Kit for Portable Toilets?

A dedicated solar power kit provides a safe and efficient source of energy for lighting, ventilation, pumps, sensors and other electrical equipment installed in portable toilets. The system generates energy during the day, supplies the active equipment and stores the surplus in a LiFePO₄ battery, allowing the stored energy to be used after sunset or during periods of low solar radiation.

The solution is suitable for toilets installed both in locations connected to the power grid, where it helps reduce electricity consumption, and in parks, car parks, campsites, construction sites, tourist areas and other locations where establishing a grid connection would be difficult or expensive. Each configuration can be adapted according to the number of toilet units, the energy consumption of the equipment and the required operating autonomy.

Key Benefits of the Solar Power System

By integrating the solar panels, hybrid inverter, battery and steel support structure into a single system, the kit provides a complete, installation-ready solution designed around the actual operating requirements of the project.

Reliable Power in Locations Without Easy Access to the Grid

The kit can supply the energy required to operate a portable toilet in locations where the public electricity grid is unavailable or where establishing a new connection would involve extensive work, high costs and long waiting times. Energy is generated directly next to the connected equipment, allowing portable toilets to be installed in parks, construction sites, campsites, car parks, recreational areas and other remote locations.

Energy Available After Sunset

The 5.12 kWh LiFePO₄ battery stores the energy generated by the solar panels during the day and makes it available when solar production decreases. Lighting, ventilation, sensors and control systems can therefore continue to operate at night or during cloudy periods. For projects with higher energy requirements, the battery storage capacity can be expanded.

Reduced Electricity Consumption from the Grid

Where the portable toilet is connected to the public electricity grid, the energy generated by the solar panels can be used as the primary power source for the connected equipment. The hybrid inverter continuously manages the available energy and helps reduce the amount of electricity drawn from the grid. This solution is particularly effective for frequently used toilet facilities where lighting, ventilation and auxiliary equipment operate every day.

Complete Installation-Ready Kit

The system includes monocrystalline solar panels, a 3 kW hybrid inverter, a LiFePO₄ battery, a steel support structure, an electrical distribution board with AC and DC protection, cables, connectors and all the accessories required for installation. Every component is selected to operate correctly as part of the same system, eliminating the need to purchase equipment separately and reducing the risk of compatibility issues.

Durable Structure Designed for Outdoor Use

The solar panels are mounted on a dedicated structure made from S350 galvanised steel with Zn275 corrosion protection, specifically designed for permanent outdoor exposure. The galvanised coating protects the steel components against corrosion, while the structure is adapted to the number and dimensions of the installed panels. When correctly installed and maintained, the structure has an estimated service life of more than 25 years.

A Configuration Tailored to Each Project

The kit is available in standard configurations for single or double portable toilet units, but it can also be customised according to the requirements of each location. The number of solar panels, battery capacity, structure dimensions and operating configuration are determined according to the connected loads, daily operating schedule and required autonomy. The customer therefore receives a system sized for the actual energy demand rather than a generic configuration selected without proper assessment.

Choose the Right Solar Power Kit for Your Portable Toilet

Two standard configurations are available, sized for either a single portable toilet or a double-unit installation. The 1.5 kWp version is designed for one toilet unit, while the 2.5 kWp system provides the additional generating capacity required for two toilets installed in the same location. Both kits include solar panels, a hybrid inverter, a LiFePO₄ battery, a galvanised steel support structure, electrical protection, cables and all the accessories required for installation. Each configuration can be adapted according to the connected equipment, installation location and required autonomy.

How the Solar Power System for Portable Toilets Works

The system automatically manages the energy generated by the solar panels, supplying the toilet’s electrical equipment and storing the available surplus in the battery. Lighting, ventilation and other electrical systems can therefore continue operating during the day, after sunset and during periods of low solar radiation.

Generating Solar Energy During the Day

The solar panels capture sunlight and convert it into electrical energy. The system’s output varies according to the location, panel orientation and weather conditions. The available energy is transferred to the hybrid inverter, which distributes it either to the connected equipment or to the battery storage system.

Supplying the Toilet’s Electrical Equipment

The generated energy is used as a priority to supply equipment that is currently operating, including interior and exterior lighting, ventilation systems, pumps, sensors and integrated automation systems. The hybrid inverter continuously manages the energy flow and adjusts the power supply according to the portable toilet’s immediate electricity demand.

Storing Surplus Energy in the Battery

When the solar panels generate more energy than the connected equipment is using, the surplus is directed to the LiFePO₄ battery. The stored energy remains available for periods when solar production decreases, increasing the system’s autonomy and reducing its dependence on an external source of electricity.

Using Stored Energy After Sunset

After sunset or during periods of low solar radiation, the connected equipment is supplied with the energy stored in the battery. The system automatically switches from solar generation to stored energy without requiring any action from the user, ensuring continuous operation of the portable toilet’s essential electrical equipment.
